dotJobs will email you with links to any new jobs that match your search criteria. Before you create a profile, test whether your criteria will return the kind of jobs you are seeking by trying it in the search form.

1. Searches of dotJobs are not case sensitive. "Sales Manager" and "sales manager" will return the same results.

2. Leaving the location and job description fields blank will return all locations and all jobs.

3. Boolean searches, using "and" or "or", are accepted by the search engine:

   • Searching for "sales or manager" will return jobs with either (or both) words present.
   • Searching for "sales and manager" is exactly equivalent to "sales manager".

4. A phrase with multiple space separated words, e.g "Sales  Manager", will return jobs that contain "Sales" AND THEN "Manager", in that order, and possibly with other text inbetween.

5. You may use the asterisk ("*") as a wild card. That is, "prod*" matches jobs containing "production", "producer", "producing", etc.

6. The search engine has a reasonable understanding of UK locations. Searching for "hants" will return jobs listed in Hampshire. Searching for jobs in "South" will return jobs in Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Essex, Sussex, etc. This only extends as far as county level. The search engine does not know, for example, that Swindon is in Wiltshire, and thus if you search for Swindon you'll only get jobs that are explicitly listed as being in Swindon.
